I International Football Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup
On 14-16 May 2016 the International Football Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup
will take place in St. Petersburg. The tournament will be held for the first time in memory of
the legendary forward of FC Zenit who began his football career in the team of Sports Club
Bolshevik (now FC Almaz Antey). The main organizer will be the Aerospace Defense Concern
Almaz Antey jointly with the Football Federation of St. Petersburg and FC Zenit.
The main purpose of holding the tournament is to develop international football
movement and support children’s and young people’s sports in Russia. The participants in the
First International Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup will be children's teams represented by
famous football clubs of Russia and Europe: Zenit (St. Petersburg), CSKA (Central Sports Club
of Army) (Moscow) Villarreal (Spain), Lokomotiv (Moscow), Brodartz (Serbia), HIK (Finland),
Dynamo (Moscow) and Almaz Antey (St. Petersburg).
Young football players aged not over 13 will participate in the forthcoming tournament.
The venue for the First International Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup will be a new football
stadium Almaz Antey located on the territory of Obukhovsky sports complex. The competitions
will be held within three days, the participators are eight teams divided by blind drawing of lots
into quarterfinal pairs. On the first match day (May 14) the quarterfinals will be held. On the
second match day (May 15) the semifinals will be played. On the final day (May 16) the decisive
games will take place for the full determination of places. After the completion of all game
stages and determination of the winners, on May 16 the closing ceremony of the First
International Football Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup will take place.
On May 13 at 03:00pm there will be drawing of lots between the representatives of
the teams: CSKA, Lokomotiv, Dynamo, Villarreal, Zenit, Brodartz, HIK, Almaz Antey.
The event devoted to the forthcoming football contest will also see the participation of:
– Mikhail Podvyaznikov, Deputy Director General of the Concern, Director of the North
West Regional Center of the Aerospace Defense Concern Almaz Antey, President of FC Almaz
– Boris Vakhrushev, First Vice President of the Interregional Association of Football
Federations Severo-Zapad (North West), co-founder of St. Petersburg Beach Football
Federation;
– Vladimir Kazachenok, International Master of Sports, head of the training center of the
Academy of FC Zenit.
The drawing of lots and introduction to the representatives of the teams participating in
the I International Football Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup will take place in the
White Nights hall of the Moscow hotel at the address: Ploshchad Aleksandra Nevskogo 2.
On May 14, at 10:00am, at Almaz Antey stadium at Prospekt Obukhovskoy Oborony 130
the opening ceremony of the I International Football Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup
will take place. The competition will be held within three days. Four games will be played each
day. On May 16 there will be final games and the first winner of the I International Football
Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup will be determined. During the championship the entry to
Almaz Antey football stadium will be free and open to all football fans and followers.
On May 16, at 05:00pm, the ceremonial closing of the Tournament for Lev Burchalkin Cup
and the awarding will take place.
